I'm Running For Animals!

On October 30th I will be running in the 2016 Rock 'n' Roll Los Angeles Half Marathon as a participant of Team ASPCA, a national fundraising and endurance training program. I am excited to be participating with Team ASPCA and honored to be raising the awareness and the much needed funding to support the ASPCA's programs.

My personal fundraising goal is $1500.00 and you can help me cross the finish line by making a donation to the ASPCA. One hundred percent of your donation will go to the ASPCA, and your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed under applicable law.

Please visit my personal fundraising page today and donate online: Click Here

If you would like to pay by check instead, please make it payable to the ASPCA and mail to Team ASPCA, 520 8th Avenue, 7th Floor New York, New York 10018 (Please make sure to include my name in the memo line of the check).

Your donation will help the ASPCA, among other things, continue to provide local and national leadership in three key areas: caring for pets and pet parents, providing positive outcomes for at-risk animals and serving victims of animal cruelty. The ASPCA is very important to me and I appreciate your help as we fight end animal cruelty, homelessness and neglect.

Thank you in advance for your support of the ASPCA and my efforts to complete this race!

Sincerely,
Michelle Cano

My Trip To The Wolf Mountain Sanctuary

I've always had a fascination with wolves and dreamed about petting them one day!!! Finding out about the Wolf Mountain Sanctuary was an amazing opportunity to make my dream a reality!  I had such a great experience at the Wolf Mountain Sanctuary located in Lucerne Valley, CA.  The staff was friendly and the wolves were well taken care of. If you love animals as much as I do,  you should visit the Wolf Mountain Sanctuary.  The staff takes you around and introduces you to each wolf and educates you on each of their backgrounds. The best part of the visit is when you get a chance to feed and pet the wolves. Their mission is to save wolves, they are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Even if you don't have a chance to visit you can donate to help save the lives of these beautiful, misunderstood and endangered creatures.

25 Degrees

NUMBER TWO

roasted tomato / burrata / crispy prosciutto / pesto

FRENCH FRIES AND SWEET POTATO FRIES MIX

I've been to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel numerous times, but I have never been to 25 Degrees and I am not sure why because it's amazing! I was really excited about trying their burgers, since I myself am a burger lover.  25 Degrees was named one of LA's best burger joints, so I knew I was in for a treat.

The waiter suggested I try one of signature burgers, so I decided to try the "Number Two," which consisted of  roasted tomatoes, burratta, crispy prosciutto and pesto sauce and a side of fries with a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. When my burger arrived I was in shock of how big it was. Everything about this burger was delicious it was very juicy cooked to perfection  the way I like my burgers,  medium rare.  I thought the pesto and prosciutto would be over bearing, but it wasn't all the flavors were a perfect combination. This was probably one of the best burgers I have had in Los Angeles. Let's not forget about the fries! The fries were cooked to perfection not too crispy and not over salted.

The next time I'm in Hollywood and craving a great burger, 25 Degrees will be my first choice!

DIY Succulent Box Garden

Ever wonder what to do with your old Birchbox? Here's a great DIY project I think is perfect for all those Birchboxes in your room. It's not only cute, but it's also very simple.

Tools needed:
1- Old Birchbox
Wax paper
Scissors
Succulents

Step 1: Start by picking your favorite patterned Birchbox or you can paint the entire bottom, if you're feeling super crafty. It's a good idea to paint two or three layers to ensure the color stays.

Step 2: If painting the bottom make sure the box is completely dry, line the box interior with wax paper. The wax paper protects the interior of the box from water damage.

Step 3: Take your succulents out of their original containers and place them into the box, use dirt from the containers to fill in any empty space.

Step 4: Enjoy! I plan on putting mine on my desk at work.
